Burroughs ASB brought back last spring’s Game Night in place of the typical Blacklight dance, turning yet another school event into an emerging tradition.
On Friday, April 17, the BHS student body gathered in the Multi-Purpose Room and L-Hall classrooms to engage in a variety of light-hearted games.
“I helped in the Just Dance room and people seemed to really let loose,” said ASB Junior Class Secretary/Treasurer Quan Laskey. “It was entertaining to see people come in to scramble to the Just Dance videos.”
People could sing their hearts out in karaoke, dance until they dropped in upbeat rounds of Just Dance, and enjoy classic board games or Jenga. Many found the cornhole and pickleball tournament on the Quad to be a blast, too.
“Honestly, I thought it was really well-organized,” said junior Grace Garver. “There was a lot of options for inside and outside games, which I found to be a lot of fun.”
Additionally, gift cards were offered as incentives, encouraging eagerness in students to give their all in the various games.
Game Night was a laid-back yet lively atmosphere for all participants, a breath of fresh air amidst CAASP testing and AP Exam prep.
It might just be in the cards for Game Night to become an annual school event!
