As they near the end of the season, the Burroughs have compiled a 17–4 record, continuing their strong trend from last year as league play progresses. The team opened the season with numerous wins against Oak Hills and Palmdale, showcasing their strengths, while close losses to Hesperia provided opportunities to improve their gameplay strategy and focus on individual growth.
Several moments have defined the season so far. A standout performance by Stephen Lormand and Cael Rivera in the April 17 home game against Apple Valley saw Lormand hit a walk-off double, allowing Rivera to score at home plate and secure a 2-1 win.
“This year has created one of the best team environments I have ever experienced,” said Rivera, a team captain.
Individual contributions have been key to the team’s success, including Kanon Schiller’s six home runs and Colby Bachman’s high-quality team involvement and on-field expertise.
As the end of the season approaches, the focus is shifting toward pushing through these final games to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Burros have their last home game April 29 against the Sultana, giving fans a final sendoff for the seniors. The game starts at 3:15 p.m.
