Burroughs High School’s drama department has officially announced the cast for this year’s spring play, “This Murder Was Staged,” a murder-mystery comedy that promises laughs, suspense, and plenty of surprises.
The play features a large ensemble cast and a mix of comedic and dramatic roles, with many familiar faces slotted to appear.
“The cast is having a blast in rehearsals,” said Drama Teacher Eileen Poole.
Senior Khloe Olson will play Detective Drake, with Murolo Patchin as Terry, and Olive Patterson taking on the roles of Keira and Lucy. Other cast members include Dain Johnson as Thornton and Charlie Brown, Liam Garrett as Sinclair, and Brayden Burris as Mark.
Additional performers include Trystan Odom and Anabelle Grubbs as Taylor, Riley Bandy as Carl and Harold, Sophia Ibarra as Greta and Dame Magraff, Emily Collison as Constance, Aubrey Brazie as Scout and Linus, Delanie Gilham as Sylvia and Carol, and Axel Dack as Alwyn and Marsha.
Haley Hengsteler will serve as stage manager, with Heath Ralston working as the runner for the production.
The comedic murder-mystery format promises to be entertaining not only for audiences, but for the performers themselves.
“I’m most excited about seeing the students have fun with it and watching the characters develop,” Poole said.
With a strong cast and a comedic mystery storyline, “This Murder Was Staged” will be at the Parker Performing Arts Center on March 13, 14, 20 and 21.
