Burroughs Swim team has been having a successful season up to date. From swimming at their first league meet, to swimming at various tournaments, including MT. Sac, and a fan favorite the Relay Meet in Palm Springs, the team has had many personal bests and even a couple of CIF qualifications. Senior Douglas Bui is very excited about his qualification in the 100 breaststroke.

“I’m happy to have qualified so early in the season so there are more meets for me to improve my time,” Bui says.

At their most recent league meet the Girls Team won with a score of 81 points and the Boys Team won with a score of 120 points. Although standing for league is not available as of yet both coaches and team members are hoping for the best as the running for league champion is going to be a close call.

Head Coach Brenda Rhodes acknowledges that although it is a building year for the team she has high hopes for them and believes in them greatly. The team looks forward to their upcoming meet at the Dan Tran Memorial Meet Invitational. They hope to bring home some medals and memories. So don’t forget to come support and cheer on your swim team!
