As everyone adjusts to the new reality of online instruction, ASB has continued to encourage students to share their at-home learning activities through weekly challenges. In fact, everyone is invited to participate in the weekly challenge—students, teachers, and even administrators.

Last month ASB posted the results of its second virtual challenge, which asked students to post photos of their pet’s best tricks for the week’s virtual challenge. The challenge was a great way to have fun and most importantly, boost school spirit.

Senior Alex Gerber and freshman Addie Gerber took the top spot with their video of their dog Max, whom they adopted from the Ridgecrest Animal Shelter a few months ago.

“We’ve been using quarantine as an opportunity to teach Max lots of new tricks, and it was really cool to see how much he’s learned,” said the elder Gerber. “We did a combination of what he knows, so in that video he did sit, lie down, roll over, shake, and up.”

For their third challenge, students were encouraged to participate in the Art Challenge. Students were invited to draw their favorite animal and send their art into the official ASB account @burrosasb before fifth period Friday, Oct. 2.
