Burroughs high school wrestling wraps up the season with determination and optimism.
In the challenging realm of high school wrestling, our Burroughs boys wrestling team concludes the season with resilience despite facing battles throughout the league. Finishing at the bottom with a 1-6 overall record and a 0-5 standing in the league, the boys grappled through a tough season.
Wrestler Ethan Kleinman-Sishc, a junior, reflects on the team’s performance with positivity.
“Although we did not get all the wins we would have liked, our team has shown lots of improvement, and we are looking forward to the future of our team,” said Kleinman-Sishc.
On the girls’ side, the story is one of perseverance in the face of adversity. The girls wrestling team faced difficult challenges, finishing the season with a final league standing of 0-5. This can be attributed to the team initially filling only three weight classes, which later became two due to injuries.
Undeterred, Junior Captain Sierra Green expresses optimism for the future.
“We are currently recruiting girls of all weight classes for next year’s season in the hope of a better turn out and then getting some league wins under our belts,” said Green.
Despite the setbacks, both the boys and girls wrestling teams exemplify determination and a commitment to growth for the seasons to come.
