All students at Burroughs are ready to rejoice “Under a Thousand Lights” at this years King of Hearts Dance! KOH will be held on Feb. 3 from 8-10 p.m. in the Gymnasium.
ASB has been working tirelessly to ensure KOH becomes a magical night for all. They’ve even upped their game by adding sparklers in the gym and a ring stand for photos to ensure the vibe stays mystical and special. Keeping to their “Night Unger a Thousand Lights” theme, ASB is looking to make an irresistible visual experience, with lots of blues, golds, and sparkly lights.
Also, ASB has secured the highly-praised DJ from last years’ KOH for not only this year’s KOH, but as well as the Blacklight Dance and Prom!
To ensure a grand experience for all, ASB is preparing for the dance by ordering decorations, building centerpieces, and communicating with all personnel to create a magnificent night.
The dance is put on by ASB sophomores. Sophomore Class President Audrey Robesky is excited to show the finishing touches.
“What I am most excited to show at KOH is a new effect that ASB has never tried. It is cold sparks, almost like indoor fireworks and it’s something new Burros hasn’t had before,” said Robesky. “I think the Sophomores did a great job decorating the dance. The theme is really unique and there hasn’t been anything like it. The decorations play into that very well.”
One of the most anticipated items on the list for King of Hearts is who will take home the crown. This year’s Top Three are Austin Olson, Nolan Sorge, and Leo Vasquez.
Rounding out the court for KOH is Conner Hill, Alex Pacheco, Digby Anderson, Andrew Quackenbush, Kainoa Aguon, Donnell Dunlap, and Jace Blanton.
From Jan. 22-25, tickets will be $15 for those without ASB cards and $20 without. After that, tickets will increase to $20 with ASB and $25 without Jan. 26-Feb. 1. Feb. 2 will be the last day to buy dance tickets with prices increasing to $25 with ASB and $30 without.
