During the Fall college application season, freshmen at BHS were given quizzes to help them determine their career goals. High school is an important part of starting one’s future, which is why counselors provide young students support by using Californiacolleges.edu.
Californiacolleges.edu provides many self-discovering quizzes that relate to the academic future and educational styles that suit a student. The purpose of the 20-minute quizzes is to give freshmen, or anyone, a starting place to determine their strengths and weaknesses. This includes professions, colleges, and vague personality types.
“The two [majors] I got really matched up to what I would do,” said freshman Justin Abercrombie.
Abercrombie always knew that management and engineering were majors he wanted to pursue. However, the extra support of the quizzes was able to show him what career he was specifically strong in.
However, some of the questions inside the quiz were hard to understand.
“I struggled on a lot of the questions because they were too specific, or something I’ve never thought about,” said freshman Tamanh Nguyen.
Nguyen believes that the test is diverse for all in different stages of their lives, which is a reason for the misunderstandings for somebody younger.
According to both freshmen, they both agreed that it took a lot of perspective and imagination to put themselves into some of the questions.
Being able to identify what the future may look like can inspire and motivate a student. Many are confused and aren’t as energetic to pursue education as they don’t know what to do. However, the many assessments Californiacolleges.edu provides can help one identify a clear goal.
Although it is true that the quiz is not one hundred percent accurate. One’s own effort of self-discovery is a necessity for a full future.
Californiacolleges.edu also provides a variety of quizzes. Instead of being college-based, it also has personality, intelligence, and so many more tests.
With this type of assessment technology being implemented in classrooms, this might be a turning point for students and teachers alike.
