The Blockbuster loves to hear from Burroughs grads to check on their life after high school. Here we catch up with 2021 graduate Bryce Hill, who is studying Computer Engineering at Utah State University and is also a part of USU’s cross country and track team.
What’s it like being independent?
Being independent just means that you have to have a bit more discipline in doing the tasks you need to do, making sure you eat right and healthy, and plan things out in your week. I was fortunately able to learn those things quickly while serving my two-year church mission in Colombia, so I didn’t have a huge shock coming up to college.
What activities are you enjoying?
I am enjoying being able to train with the USU cross-country and track teams.
What advice can you offer prospective college kids?
The advice that I’d offer is to make sure you get your registration in early and once you are in college, stay on top of assignments, ask for help early on, go to bed early, and wake up early.
What is the best thing about your university?
The best thing about USU is the great and advanced training rooms for athletics and the school spirit going to the sporting events (everyone gets really into it and we have a lot of chants)
What has been the biggest surprise or adjustment?
For me, there weren’t any big surprises. The only big adjustment is the weather because it is a lot colder in northern Utah than it is in Southern California.
