Puss in Boots has made an appearance yet again in the cinematic universe of Dreamworks. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish leaves viewers thoroughly impressed with Puss’s latest adventures…and struggles.

In Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Puss continues to please his audiences with humor and music. Things take a drastic turn, however, when Puss is crushed beneath a large bell and dies. When he awakens, the doctor informs Puss that he is in great health, but there is one major issue: Puss is now on the last of his nine cat lives.

Death itself, in the form of a horrifying wolf, haunts Puss throughout the film with his distinctive whistle. The wolf is animated in a chilling way, with his tall stature and piercing red eyes.

A new side of Puss is revealed through The Last Wish. As the wolf follows Puss along his journey to The Wishing Star, Puss experiences many panic attacks. During one fight scene, Puss runs off into the forest to isolate himself during one of his anxiety attacks. His cheery friend, Perrito, comes to Puss’s side and offers him comfort in this time of panic.

The vulnerability that Puss shows, despite his heroic act he puts on for the public, demonstrates that even the mightiest heroes experience challenges and fear. This is a great lesson to young audiences and audience members that grew up with Puss in Boots, as it shows that even the bravest of characters have internal struggles that others don’t see.

The animation is vibrant and pops out of the screen. It mixes 3D animation with 2D elements to give off a story-book type of feel. When we say that you don’t want to miss out on the epic animation that Puss in Boots provides, we mean it.

And although Puss in Boots: The Last Wish has overwhelmingly positive reviews, there should not be another Puss in Boots movie released in the future. This film serves as an ideal stopping point because Puss’s character develops from a lone-rogue to a team-player who values his relationships with others.

Trust me, you do not want to miss out on Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. From the cheesy morals to the jaw-dropping animation, this film is surely a 10/10.
