FCA rings in the holiday season with gifts and cookie decorating!

‘Tis the season for holiday celebrations!

At FCA’s Dec. 7 meeting, members rang in the holiday season by participating in sugar cookie decorating and a saran wrap Christmas game. The festivities ended with a pizza lunch.

Although not a competition, members felt the heat when decorating cookies. In a colorful flurry, cut-outs of stars, stockings, and gingerbread men were iced with thick layers of frosting, and adorned with various sprinkle toppings.

“I enjoyed the cookie decorating,” said FCA advisor Amy Shermer. “Everyone decorated them differently and then enjoyed eating them, so that was fun!”

After filling up on cookies, the battle for gifts began. Members were seated in a circle, and handed a large ball of saran wrap. As the layers were unfurled, various gifts were revealed. The catch: if the person next to you rolled a one or a six on a singular dice, the ball had to be passed on. After a tense, yet exciting, ten-minute game, each member walked away with a plethora of gifts, including chocolates, books, and McDonald’s gift cards.

Students had an overall jolly disposition, and were eager to participate in all the activities. Needless to say, it was a festive way to celebrate FCA’s last meeting of the season.

In the new year, students can expect many more FCA meetings, filled with fun activities.

“We are looking forward to holding more meetings next semester,” said FCA student leader Colin Pendergast. “We hope that more people come and get to know each other better.”

The FCA will resume their Wednesday meetings after winter break in M-42.
