With the year’s heat persisting as long as ever, Burroughs students will be glad to know that water bottle stations have finally made their way throughout the school!
“Finally having these stations makes it way more convenient for me to refill my water, especially with my Owala water bottle,” said junior Genevieve Welsh. “It also encourages using a water bottle rather than a single-use bottle, which is always a plus.”
These water bottle stations can be found in the front office, multiuse/cafeteria, and C, M, L and D halls.
Burroughs, along with several other schools in Sierra Sands, received the funding for the stations by using ESSER III funds.
“We had been talking about getting them for a while,” said principal Carrie Cope. “I’m excited we finally are able to purchase them.”
The days of single-use water bottles can officially come to a close with these accessible stations. Despite the heat pushing well into the 100s for Ridgecrest, students and staff can remain prepared and at ease with the new equipment.
