We may be a month into school, but ASB is promising an “Endless Summer” for the first rally of year.
“It’s not different from the last couple of years, but we hope everyone has fun, participates, and brings lots of spirit,” said ASB Advisor Laura Larson.
The spirit-filled event, scheduled for today at the Burroughs Stadium, will celebrate fall sport and include class competitions, yell-offs, a teacher game, and the announcement of the Homecoming Top Three. Bringing it all together has taken weeks of work for the school’s leadership class.
“Coming back to ASB and working on the rally feels great,” said ASB Rally Master Marlee Hildreth, a junior. “One thing I love about rally prep is the collaboration process. The sense of teamwork in my class makes the whole experience much more rewarding and special.”
That teamwork and collaboration begins early on, when the class has to brainstorm a theme. The class uses the theme to figure out that will be enjoyable for participants and for those watching from the bleachers.
During rally week, ASB rehearses multiple times to make sure the games and activities run smoothly.
“I’m very proud of the ASB kids,” said Larson. “They have worked hard preparing for the Rally.”
She also gives special thanks to Hildreth, as she has been working especially hard on writing the script and organizing the rally.
Today’s Fall Rally marks the end of a lively spirited week, which included Tuesday’s “Sunrise, Sunset” class color day, Wednesday’s “American Pride” red, white, and blue day, Thursday’s BBQ Dad vs. Soccer Mom day, and Friday’s “Endless Summer” celebration.
