The 2024-2025 ASB class is hard at work planning the most exciting and fun activities for the new school year.
ASB started the year with its annual Kickback (see related story), and now they are looking to the next big event and the other activities to get students involved in Burroughs culture.
The ability to get involved continues next Friday, Aug. 23, when the BHS Varsity football team hosts their first home game, playing against Tehachapi. To mark the occasion, ASB is holding a mini rally before school to get school spirit through the roof, and asking students to dress in their Burros spirit gear for BHS Pride Day.
In terms of larger events this semester, the fall rally (Sept. 13) and Homecoming week (Oct. 7-12) will take up a lot of ASB’s focus.
“I think I’m the most excited for Homecoming week,” said ASB President Ryan Morrison. “It’s always super stressful yet extremely rewarding and always one of the most fun parts of the year.” said Morrison is of course talking about the fun activities that ASB has in the works — B Mountain painting, Dodgeball, the Amazing Race, Powderpuff, and Float Decorating — in the days leading up to the Oct. 11 Homecoming game against Sultana and the Oct. 12 Homecoming dance. The dance and rally are put on by the BHS cheerleaders.
“ASB is very excited about the new school year,” said ASB Advisor Laura Larson.
