The Book Fair is back again for another exciting year at Burroughs! With this year’s theme being “Welcome to the Greatest Book Fair,” students are sure to have a fun time!
“Since this is a different time of year than when we would usually do it, we hope there will be a good turnout and people will enjoy it,” said Librarian Janna Pearce.
This year’s book fair will be offering a lot of different activities for students to participate in, knickknacks for students to buy, and (especially) books. Students can expect to see a variety of different genres ranging from thriller to romance. There is even a rumor that there will be a book about Taylor Swift!
“We are changing up some of our games and offering more prizes this year,” said Pearce. “We are doing the spinning wheel game that we have done in years past, but we will be giving out fidgets and gadgets as well as getting the chance to earn raffle tickets towards a prize like gift cards. We will also have teachers digitally masked as clowns and students can guess who is who. The person with the closest answers correct will also get gift cards.”
The Book Fair’s goal is to not only encourage students to read and get a chance to indulge in a good book, but to also help others. Any money left over from the books fair will be used to help students who can not always financially afford books.
“This year we will be using the extra money to grant kids, who can not financially afford them, their book wish list,” said Pearce.
The Book Fair will be starting on Mon. April 29 and will continue until Fri. May 3 in the Burroughs library.
“I am excited for our students to buy some books and all of the fun little knickknacks we will be offering,” said Librarian Ashley Douglas.
