On Tuesday, Feb. 13, ASB announced the Prom theme for its upcoming dance: “Elegance on the Avenue.”
As reported last week, this year’s Prom Theme reveal had a fun twist. Instead of simply announcing the theme, ASB released a series of emojis describing the theme and gave students the opportunity to guess what they thought it would be, with the person with the correct or closest guess winning two free tickets to Prom.
Ultimately, senior Ariawna Stiles was the lucky winner.
“I thought [the competition] was a fun way to get everyone involved and excited for Prom,” said senior Avery Thibado.
The series of emojis released included a diamond, playing cards, dice, and a starry night. ASB received a wide range of guesses, with many related to Las Vegas and James Bond.
Students have responded postively to the theme.
“I like the theme,” said Thibado. “I think it’s really classy and will turn out pretty.”
This year’s Prom will take place on Apr. 27 at the Kerr McGee Center.
The fan-favorite DJ from the KOH dance will return for Prom to bring a night of dancing and fun for all attendees.
Prom tickets will go on sale starting Apr. 15.
“I’m looking forward to the dance being at a new location, and celebrating the last dance of my senior year,” said Thibado.
Students can also look forward to next month’s Blacklight Dance, which will feature the same DJ.
