In search for someone to book a photoshoot with? Freshman Madalyn Martin is just the one to go to!
“One day I found my mom’s camera in the hall closet and I asked her if I could learn how to use it,” said Martin. “Before I knew it, photography became something I love.”
Martin initially started off by taking pictures of her friends and fellow cheer team members just as a hobby, then posting them on her page for fun. Soon, she took her hobby to the next level and began to advertise her photography to turn it into a business with the encouragement of her friends and family.
“I love taking lifestyle shots of people. I also like when couples ask me to take some photos for them because I get to be apart of that bond and experience their love through the lens,” said Martin. “I want to capture moments that make people feel good about themselves.”
Martin has kept busy in recent weeks with her photography business on top of her school and cheer schedule. She had four sessions at Red Rock Canyon on Nov. 5 where she was out shooting for two hours from 3:30 to 5:30. Shortly after, she had two more on Nov. 12.
Depending on what type of photos are requested, the prices range from $40 to $50 for up to two people. Right now, she’s limited to desert areas and places around Ridgecrest, but hopes to branch out to different locations.
Her talent for photography shines through in her posts. All of the people she shoots with are in their natural, happy element and the different angles and lightning are utilized perfectly!
Martin is ready to take on any and all clients whenever she has time slots available.
