As Homecoming Week comes to an end, one of the best highlights of this week was the Amazing Race. This event is looked upon as one of the most unique events as it combines smarts, athleticism, and teamwork.
The Amazing Race is an extraordinary game filled with complex puzzles, word riddles, and the chance to compete against fellow peers. This game began in blank and has continued to be one of the most anticipated events of the school year.
“I thought it went really well and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun! Every year it gets bigger and bigger with more and more teams and more and more clubs involved,” said ASB Advisor Laura Larson. “ASB is extremely grateful for all who participated.”
This Amazing Race had a record-setting nineteen teams which called for more zombies and more clubs to participate. Luckily, everyone stepped up to the plate to make it happen. For the past 3 years, the record for the amount of teams has been broken as it keeps expanding and expanding.
This year’s amazing Race code word was “Haunted House” and an added clue was introduced to the game with Principal Carrie Cope giving the clue out. Once again, ASB stuck to its Halloween theme and it was rejoiced among students. ASB continues to add new improvements to the game and already has ideas for next year. This year the game was won by a group of Juniors beating out 18 other teams.
“I thought the games were super fun and great group activities!” said first-place winner, junior Jamie Hass. “The code word was super creative but I think my favorite part was the end where you had to solve the extra riddle.”
Overall, the Amazing Race has continued to rise up through the ranking of best Homecoming games, coming toe to toe with Powderpuff. This game will continue to be one of the most exciting events of the year and of Homecoming week.
