The very first rally of the year has ASB going all out to ensure it’s a great one, with activities and games planned to make sure everyone has a good time as they celebrate the fall athletes. The event will also include performances by Colorguard, Cheer and Madrigals, and the announcement of the Homecoming Court Top Three.
The Halloween-themed event is scheduled for Friday morning at the football stadium. It caps a week full of spirit days, including Monday’s Black Cats vs. Ghosts, Tuesday’s Haunted Hippies, Wednesday’s Spooky Slumber, Thursday’s Thriller Throwback, and Friday’s Fright Fest.
While Halloween is officially a few weeks away, the ASB class thought it would be an ideal theme as the calendar shifts into fall.
“We wanted something different from what we’ve done before,” said ASB Rally Master Marlee Hildreth. “It also goes well with the seasons changing. Everybody loves spooky season!”
While the rally is sure to be more fun than scary, the ASB class has been working hard to eliminate any potential disasters.
“We’ve been testing and playing through all of the games ourselves to make sure they’re both easy to play and enjoyable,” said ASB Senior Class Secretary Nisha Wallace. “We’ve also been running full practices of the rally for weeks so everything goes smoothly and we can avoid mistakes.”
In order to make sure that the crowd is engaged, ASB has been moving away from the old style of games where a select few are engaged.
“We’ve been planning some really fun games for the teams and scream-offs that get the whole crowd involved, not just the people on the field,” said Wallace. “Our goal is to make sure that everyone feels like part of the rally, whether they’re cheering in the stands or competing in a game.”
