The moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. The El Burro Yearbook staff has worked hard for many months to deliver a cohesive and creative final product. It will be distributed to the masses on Thursday, May 22 at the Yearbook Extravaganza in the Multi-Purpose room from 6-8 p.m. Admission is $5.
The Yearbook Extravaganza is an annual distribution event and signing party that allows attendees to pick up their yearbooks early and hang out with friends while gathering signatures. The party theme — the Eighties — is a nod to the yearbook’s theme, which honors Burroughs’ 80th anniversary: “Once a Burro, Always a Burro.” Many pages within the book honor BHS history and traditions while celebrating this year’s students and activities.
In addition to music, games, and a photo booth, entertainment will include an Eighties costume contest, with the winner earning a free yearbook!
Senior Co-Editor Daisy Risden is looking forward to celebrating the theme and putting a free yearbook in the lucky winner’s hands.
“The costume contest is a new event that I’m excited to play around with,” said Risden. Other events include a Rubik’s Cube solving race, a cornhole tournament, giant Jenga, and bucketball. Food will also be available for purchase from the
Yearbooks are on sale now for $120 at Jostens.com or through the school in Room C-10. They will also be on sale at the event. Students do not need to attend to get their yearbook. They can pick them up beginning Friday, May 23, in Room C10 during non-instructional hours.
“I am very excited for students to see the book and write in it to remember what life was like as a high school student when they reference it in the years to come,” said senior Co-Editor Alissa Guitierrez.
