This year’s prom was a night to remember, even with a last-minute venue change. Originally scheduled to be held at Cerro Coso College, the event was moved to the Kerr McGee Center due to the cold weather. Despite the shift, the evening unfolded beautifully, thanks to the hard work and adaptability of the ASB team.
The theme, “Emerald City,” brought an enchanting atmosphere to the Kerr McGee Center. Emerald greens, sparkling lights, and decor set the perfect scene, earning high praise from attendees. It was clear that months of planning paid off as the decorations were a true success and captured the magical spirit of the evening. Throughout the night, music filled the air, keeping the dance floor alive. Everyone danced, laughed, and made unforgettable memories. The energy was high, and it was clear that everyone was having a great time together.
Throughout the evening, the positive energy was undeniable. As senior Hannah Lint said, “Even with the last-minute change, prom turned out amazing! The decorations were beautiful, and the music kept everyone on the dance floor all night.”
Senior Kayla Santiago had high praise for the DJ.
“Once I was in my group of people, I was dancing the whole time,” said Santiago. “The DJ was really good. I liked how he was interacting with us!”
The night culminated in the crowning of Prom King and Queen. Congratulations to PJ Rivas and Charlene Muñoz for earning these honors! Their smiles lit up the dance floor as they celebrated with their classmates.
A huge thank you goes out to the Associated Student Body class for organizing such an unforgettable event. From the quick venue change to the dazzling decorations, they made sure that prom night was truly special.
Senior Class President Lauren Calderon was breathing a sigh of relief and satisfaction after the dance.
“My balloon arches came out beautifully, despite my lack of sleep!” said Calderon. She complimented her fellow ASB members, including the newly elected ones who joined in the decorating efforts. The team put together an unprecedented number of arches and towers in the fastest amount of time ever. “We really worked together well because we all had the same idea in mind and were looking forward to the best designs and organization.”
As the night wrapped up, there was a feeling of gratitude and joy in the air. Students left with big smiles, sore feet from dancing, and memories they’ll cherish for years to come.
Prom 2025 was a success. A night full of music, laughter, and magic, all made possible by the hard work of the ASB and the spirit of the students who attended.
