As the school year winds down, excitement for Prom 2025 is building across campus. This year’s theme is Emerald City, and it will be held at Kerr McGee on April 26 at 8 pm. Months of preparation, planning, and teamwork are all coming together for one unforgettable evening.
The junior class officers have taken the lead in organizing this year’s event, dedicating countless hours to every detail, including a last-minute switch-up in location. The dance was originally slated to be held outdoors at Cerro Coso, but ASB moved the dance indoors to Kerr McGee this week when the weather forecast raised concerns. ASB is handling the pivot with a positive attitude.
“It was very stressful but ultimately it was the best decision to ensure everyone has an amazing prom experience, especially our seniors,” said Junior Class President Kayleen Garcia. The new location allows greater flexibility in decorations as well.
“We have spent months coming in on weekends and working during class, laying out decoration locations and ensuring everything is perfect for prom,” said Junior Class Secretary Lucas Campbell-Goolsby. “I am excited to see how all the decorations turn out and to see our vision come to life.”
Part of that vision also includes booking multiple photo booths and getting the DJ that everyone loves.
Aside from a busy dance floor, one of the highlights of the night will be the crowning of the Prom King and Queen. This year’s Top Six includes Demille Hudson, PJ Rivas, Alex Gumbs, Hannah Lint, Estrella Ruiz Zamorano, and Charlene Munoz. Joining the Top Six on the court will be seniors Clara Butterfield, Emi Fisher, Alissa Gutierrez, Sam Hibbs, Bailey King, Lynkim Phan, Finley Scott, Emily Vidrio, Chase Coster, Alex Gumbs, Cory Kent, Marcos Lugo, John McLaughlin, Mikey Petrovich, Joaquin Vasquez, and Adam Wuestenhoefer.
With attention to detail and a clear passion for making prom memorable, this year’s event is going to be one to remember. Whether it’s dancing to favorite songs, capturing memories in the photo booths, or admiring the decorations, Prom 2025 is shaping up to be a night worth waiting for.
